Connecting you to recovery opportunities in San Antonio

We all need someone to talk to. Whether you’re unsure where to begin or how to pay for support, the Connection Center is here to help—without judgment, pressure, or cost.

You’re not alone, we’ve been there too

At the Connection Center, we believe mental health and substance-use recovery start with real conversations. Our certified Peer Specialists aren’t just trained to support you—they’ve walked similar paths themselves.

They know what it feels like to struggle, to feel unsure where to turn, and to search for hope. That’s why they show up with more than just professional skills—they bring empathy, honesty, and lived experience.

Support that meets you where you are

Every Peer Specialist on our team has faced their own mental health or substance-use challenges and completed state certification to help others. Their guidance comes from a place of real understanding, not judgment.

Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, or simply need someone to talk to, we’re here. No insurance. No referral. No pressure. Just real people, offering real help, at no cost to you.

Yes, it’s really free. There’s no catch, no insurance required, and no diagnosis needed. Thanks to community partnerships and public funding, we can offer support at no cost to you.

We help with a wide range of needs, like:

  • When you just need someone to listen
  • When you’re feeling stuck or stressed
  • When you’re unsure how to access professional mental health or substance-use treatment

Most of our Peer Support happens in person, because we believe that human connection is most powerful face-to-face. That said, we understand not everyone can make it to a physical location. We sometimes offer virtual or phone-based support depending on your needs and the availability of our team—just reach out, and we’ll do our best to make it work for you.

Our typical hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Reach out, and we’ll help you find the best time to connect with you.

That’s amazing. If you’re in recovery and want to use your experience to help others, we offer Mental Health Peer Specialist (MHPS), Recovery Support Peer Specialist (RSPS), and Supervisor (PSS) certification trainings—along with ongoing mentorship. Visit our “Get Trained” section to learn more.

Absolutely. Through our Harbor program, we place Peer Specialists at trusted community sites. We work directly with your team to design services that fit your setting—whether it’s one-on-one support, group facilitation, program navigation, or general support for your clients.

It depends on your needs. Thanks to generous philanthropic and government support, we can often provide Peer Support or training services to partner organizations at no cost. When funding isn’t available, we offer reasonable rates and flexible packages.

We offer both certification and customized training, including:

  • MHPS, RSPS, and PSS certifications
  • WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Plan)
  • Mental Health First Aid
  • Professional development training on self-care, communication, and applying the Social Determinants of Health

We can deliver training online, at your site, or on our schedule—whatever works best for you.
